Nurse 3 - Health - BPH - Office of Epidemiology & Prevention Services - Kanawha Co.

Serves as the subject matter expert for TB case management and provides consultation services to local health departments throughout the state. The goal of the TB surveillance nurse consultant is to ensure appropriate case management activities for persons diagnosed with latent TB infection (L TBI) suspected, and confirmed TB disease, and those exposed to an active case of TB disease. Responsible for: Reviewing medical records; receive and distribute orders from physician director/program director; review medication administration records; conduct tele-medicine clinic visits between physician director and patients; review and maintain clinical documentation to ensure appropriate/accurate clinical documentation practices; provide TB education and serve as the designated TB training focal point; assist with local and regional TB contact investigations as needed. Qualifications

Training: Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited four-year college or university and two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse.
OR
Successful completion of an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or a diploma nursing program and three years of experience as a registered professional nurse.
OR
Professional certification from a recognized national nursing certifying organization as a nurse or nurse practitioner in the area of assignment plus two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse.
OR
Successful completion of an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or a diploma nursing program; plus baccalaureate degree in the health sciences or behavioral sciences and two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in nursing.
OR
Master's degree in nursing from an accredited four-year college or university.
 
Special Requirement: Current West Virginia license or temporary permit to practice as a registered professional nurse.
