Join a dynamic policy team and help shape how eligibility programs operate across Louisiana. This highly responsible position within the Eligibility Policy Unit supports Eligibility Field Operations and Program Operations through research, analysis, and policy management work that directly impacts service delivery statewide. You’ll work with a high level of independence, contribute to Medicaid eligibility policy development, and collaborate on initiatives involving forms, notices, and language access. If you bring strong analytical skills, clear communication, and a solid understanding of Medicaid eligibility and regulatory requirements and enjoy turning complex policy into practical guidance, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Requirements

Six years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR

A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR

An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus two years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

  • Organize, coordinate, and monitor the Forms & Notice Committee (FNC) process by scheduling and facilitating meetings, distributing materials, recording and sharing minutes and action items, tracking projects, and maintaining documentation of activities and accomplishments.
  • Monitor and manage Medicaid eligibility notices, forms, and applications by reviewing requests submitted through email and SharePoint, coordinating edits and updates with the Eligibility Policy Unit and FNC, and ensuring materials are published, updated, or retired appropriately.
  • Support Medicaid policy operations and development by researching eligibility policies, analyzing data, evaluating state and federal regulatory changes, identifying program impacts, and reporting risks or issues to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Draft, review, and assist with approval of Medicaid eligibility policies and related materials, including memoranda, manuals, notices, applications, forms, brochures, portal content, mass mailings, and agency rules and regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison among applicants, enrollees, local eligibility offices, State Office staff, advocates, providers, and the public by responding to inquiries, coordinating policy-related requests, and supporting clear communication on eligibility operations.
  • Monitor language translation services contracts by coordinating translation requests, reviewing vendor estimates for compliance, ensuring timely delivery and publication of translated materials, assisting with invoicing issues, and completing special projects or other duties as assigned.
