MEDICAID AREA MANAGER 2

The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana.

Lead at the front line of Louisiana Medicaid service delivery. As a Parish Manager within Eligibility Field Operations, you will oversee the administration of 30+ Medicaid programs, ensuring timely and accurate access to critical healthcare services for vulnerable populations. This role offers the opportunity to mentor staff, drive operational excellence, and play a key role in delivering services that impact over 1.7 million residents statewide.

Requirements

Seven years of social services experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus four years of social services experience; OR

A bachelor's degree plus four years of social services experience; OR

An advanced degree plus three years of social services experience.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

·   Establishes and oversees operational standards, procedures, and workflows to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality delivery of Medicaid eligibility services 

·   Plans, prioritizes, and adjusts staff schedules and workloads to meet fluctuating demands, legislative changes, and regional coordination needs 

·   Monitors performance of units and staff, sets productivity and quality expectations, and implements corrective actions to improve efficiency and outcomes 

·   Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations by maintaining controls over application processing timelines, policy adherence, and service standards, including grievance and hearing procedures 

·   Manages office operations and resources, including equipment, support services, expenditure analysis, and forecasting needs for budget planning 

·   Recruits, hires, and supervises staff; establishes performance goals, conducts evaluations, supports training and development, and addresses employee relations matters in accordance with Civil Service rules 

·  Leads team development and organizational effectiveness by fostering collaboration, conducting audits and reviews, directing special studies, and preparing reports, data, and analysis for leadership and external stakeholders
