MEDICAID ANALYST SUPERVISOR

The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana.

Lead with impact in a role that shapes the future of Medicaid services. As a Supervisor of Medicaid Eligibility Analysts, you’ll guide a dynamic team responsible for making critical eligibility decisions that directly affect individuals and families across the state. Requirements

Six years of social services experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR

A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR

An advanced degree plus two years of social services experience.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

·   Supervises and directs a team of Medicaid Eligibility Analysts, ensuring accurate and timely completion of eligibility determinations within LaMEDS 

·   Oversees staff work products to ensure correct application of complex eligibility factors and determination of benefits for federal and state Medicaid programs 

·   Interprets and applies federal, state, and agency policies to validate system-generated eligibility decisions and decision notices 

·   Reviews and approves authorized benefits in LaMEDS, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures 

·   Provides ongoing training, coaching, and remedial support to staff to strengthen performance and maintain program knowledge 

·   Leads recruitment and hiring activities, including interviewing, selecting candidates, and completing employment actions in accordance with Civil Service rules 

·  Develops work plans, sets priorities, and manages schedules while monitoring time, attendance, and appropriate use of state resources to ensure efficient operations

Compensation: This position is eligible for the following Special Entrance Rates (SER), as well as a Premium Pay of up to $2.00/hr for hours worked based on longevity.
