As a Unit Supervisor in the Specialized Operations & Support Unit, you will lead a team of Medicaid analysts, ensuring timely and accurate processing of enrollment requests and provider services. This role offers the opportunity to guide staff, shape operational excellence, and contribute to the mission of delivering critical Medicaid programs across the state.

Requirements

Six years of social services experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR

A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR

An advanced degree plus two years of social services experience.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

·   Establish work schedules and priorities for Medicaid staff in the supervisory unit, adjusting as needed for workload changes, emergencies, or new legislative requirements 

·   Monitor applications, renewals, and expedited requests, ensuring accurate and timely processing in compliance with federal and state regulations 

·   Oversee multiple projects and special assignments, including out-of-state closures, pregnancy reports, legislative inquiries, and provider request forms 

·   Set performance and production standards, monitor staff work, and formally evaluate subordinates through performance ratings, promotions, and disciplinary recommendations 

·   Identify obstacles to efficiency and implement strategies to improve productivity and workload performance for the unit and individual staff 

·   Maintain controls to ensure adherence to agency policy, program guidelines, and federal deadlines, including grievance and hearing procedures 

·   Develop and maintain error profiles to support corrective action efforts at the unit and state office levels 

·   Manage office operations, equipment, and support services, maintaining inventory controls and projecting future operational needs for budget planning 

·   Recruit, interview, and select staff in compliance with Civil Service rules, making recommendations for staff allocation and utilization 

·  Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of Eligibility Field Operations and assist the department in meeting operational priorities
