Why does the job exist?

 
This position exists to create high performing teams of direct care staff in our Intermediate Care Facility to also include Supported Living homes. This position will directly oversee and manage the direct support staff that provides services to persons who have an intellectual and developmental disability and are residing at our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). Residential Coordinator work alongside other managers to train, mentor, and develop the leadership skills and abilities of house supervisors.  They help create therapeutic environments where our residents thrive, achieve their goals, and live healthy and happy lives in the community. This position will work weekends and Holidays.

This job is completed by promoting alignment with House Supervisors and House Staff with the Programs organizational values, goals, and decisions.  This job will require the incumbent to be hands on working to mentor, train, and promote effective management; professional relationships with internal and external customers; a safe and therapeutic program; and a high level of quality standards of practice.

Who are the customers?

 
Our customers include adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) with a criminal history, members of their support teams, all Los Lunas Community Program (LLCP) staff, and other stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate

 
Experience as a Mentor/Supervisor
Experience working with DDSD Standards
Experience working with external and internal team members for individuals with developmental disabilities

Minimum Qualification

 
Associate degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Finance, or a related field and three (3) years of experience with a public assistance program, medical, healthcare, educational, or state facility working with policies and procedures, conducting analysis/research, providing or requesting information from the general public, working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management, behavioral health, and/or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Drivlng Course Certificate as a condition of continued employment within 45 days of employment. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions

 
Position requires the ability to lift/push/transfer and/or carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 100 pounds with assistance. The incumbent may be exposed to unpredictable violent behavior of the resident. Daily driving is required to meet the needs of the program. Exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching are essential functions of this job.
