Why does the job exist?

 
Incumbent will provide food service to meet the needs of clients/employees of Community Based Services through the daily operation of the canteen. Also, incumbent will serve daily meals for the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program clients.

How does it get done?

 
Incumbent will manage the daily operations of the canteen, including sales, stocking, shopping, deposits, check requests and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities also cover ensuring proper sanitation of food areas, checking product freshness, serving lunch daily to Psychosocial Rehabilitation clients and follow all food handling policies and procedures. Incumbent will provide daily support in Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program as needs arise and assigned.

Ideal Candidate

 
Ideal candidate will have:
Experience working in a hospital setting
Experience serving food
Experience working in customer service
Experience in proper cleaning of kitchen, utensils and equipment.

Minimum Qualification

 
Eighth grade education.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess a current driver's license.

Working Conditions

 
This position will perform in an outpatient hospital and office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and computer and phone usage. This position requires extended periods of talking, standing, bending, squatting and occasional reaching above head and shoulders as well as the ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds. Exposure to mentally and behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable and sometimes violent behaviors in volatile situations required. Effective 01 /01/2015, New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became 100% Tobacco Free/E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or E-cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus. The position is located at Community Based Services. The Shift is 7:30am to 3:30pm.
