Department of Health, P003 Program Support, Finance & Budget.

Why does the job exist?

 
This position will assist the P003 Finance Director with monthly budget projections and communicating with bureau chiefs and financial staff to make sure the projections and encumbrance reports are updated every month and as accurate as possible. This position will also be responsible for assisting the financial analyst with payroll corrections, OPRs, and journal entries for P003. This position will help the finance director with budget and finance assignments, like allocating fixed rates, OpBud and request budget analysis, and creating Standard Operating Procedures for P003 Finance and Budget team.

*Assisting bureaus and finance director with monthly budget projections and encumbrance reports.
*Assisting with payroll corrections, OPRs, and journal entries.
*Meeting with and training bureau management & financial staff.
*Creating Standard Operating Procedures.
*Other duties as assigned.

P003 management, financial staff, DOH ASD staff/management, vendors.

Ideal Candidate

 
*Experience assisting with the preparation and managing program budget.
*Experience with analyzing large complex budgets and projections of a state agency.
*Experience with federal grants.
*Experience with payroll.
*Knowledge and experience of SHARE Financial Modules.
*Knowledge and experience using Excel, including VLookups, Pivot Tables, and IF statements.

Minimum Qualification

 
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration and four (4) years of directly related experience in budgeting, accounting, and/or auditing. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience. For use at the State Investment Council only: any budgeting, accounting, and/or auditing experience is acceptable.

Employment Requirements

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Some occasional travel is required for meetings and conferences.
