The New Mexico Department of Health has locations throughout the state and provides healthcare to all New Mexicans through the Public Health, Epidemiology & Response, Scientific Lab, State
Healthcare Facilities, Developmental Disabilities Support and Health Improvement Divisions. This position is within the Financial Accounting Bureau of the Administrative Supports Division. The
Financial Accounting Bureau provides support to the other DOH divisions with Cash Management, Capital Asset Monitoring and other financial controls.

assignments are done accurately and timely, providing training, technical assistance and guidance. Provides leadership and direction to those supervised by monitoring performance, developing
capabilities, giving feedback and appraising performance in accordance with rules and policy, complying with union requirements as needed.
Oversee the Department's annual audit to include, but not limited to, preparation of the audit journal entries, financial statements, notes and schedules. Coordinating status meetings with the auditors, ensuring prepared by client (PBC's) items are timely prepared and submitted to the auditors, along with all other requested information Provide audit assistance as needed with responses to findings, reversion reporting, etc.
Responsible for providing technical assistance and support to the various program areas of the Department to ensure monthly reconciliations are done timely and accurately.
Coordinating and conducting in house training by Financial Accounting Bureaus to DOH Financial Directors and financial support staff for new procedures related to SHARE and best accounting
practices.
Responsible for maintaining DOH fiscal policies and procedures and ensure they are updated as changes occur. This also includes providing written processes and procedures to fiscal staff as
needed.
Ensure all DFA deadlines for closeout of each month and the fiscal year end are met, preparation and/or approval of year end accrual journal entries as needed, approving and overseeing the timeliness of all documents.

Ideal Candidate
- Have experience reviewing financial statement audit reports.
- Have experience in financial accounting.
- Be a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
