Facility Maintenance Manager B
Central Louisiana State Hospital, located in Pineville, Louisiana, is seeking applicants for a vacant position in our Maintenance Department as a Facility Maintenance Manager B who manages construction, maintenance, and repair activities at one or more facilities.
The Facility Maintenance Manager B plays a vital role for the Louisiana Department of Health in the Behavioral Health community by utilizing CLSH’s values and mission to deliver quality and effective care to our patients, and ensuring our facilities are maintained accordingly. The hospital is highly committed to cooperative work with other state agencies and with the state and regional mental health program to ensure the integration and coordination of hospital-community services into a comprehensive system of mental health care.

Requirements
Completion of a two-year training program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus three years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance; OR
Eighteen semester hours in a construction field or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance.

Job Duties:- Responsible for maintaining all buildings and grounds to provide a safe, functional, and effective environment for all patients, employees, and visitors.
- Ensures that the hospital remains survey and inspection ready at all times for The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicaid/Medicare (CMS), LDH State Licensing, Office of Risk Management (ORM), and the State Fire Marshal.
- Responsible for the inventory, scheduling, supervising and controlling the performance of renovations, new construction, maintenance and preventive maintenance, vehicle maintenance, painting, plumbing, wastewater management, electrical, air conditioning systems, general maintenance, and ground maintenance at CLSH.
- Primary liaison with state and federal inspectors and EOC surveyors from TJC and or CMS and provides essential interface with selected contractors providing contract services to the hospital in the area of maintenance or housekeeping.
- Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive and uniform maintenance and preventive maintenance schedule and a departmental policy and procedure manual for the purposes of orienting new staff, staff evaluations, and proper protocols are met.
- Purchase of equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for facility maintenance and special projects, adhering to state purchasing guidelines and processes.
- Assures the presence of an on-call system to respond to hospital plan emergencies on a 24-hour basis, including the availability of skilled craftsmen in areas of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC functions.
- Development and distribution of EOC policies and procedures; management and monitoring of maintenance schedules necessary to ensure the proper operation and extend the life expectancy of hospital equipment and machinery; development of repair project specifications for bidding purposes; and the fulfillment of a lead role in development of the hospital's annual Capital Outlay plan and budget.
- This position reports directly to the Mental Hospital Administrator (CEO) and assures the hospital environment of care complies with all state and federal regulations and requirements for plant operations.
