This is a full time, full benefit eligible position, located in Lowndes County. This position may require travel within our 10 county district, as well as home visits.

Requirements


Under general supervision, instructs and supervises students of a state educational, rehabilitation, health care of correctional facility. Develops individual instruction plans, provides instruction, completes reports and tutors students. 

Additional Responsibilities:
Facilitates and participates in the development, review and evaluation of individualized Family Service Plans for infants and toddlers with developmental delays/medical conditions. Assists families in gaining access to early intervention services. Coordinates multiple providers of services and works collaboratively with community agencies and providers. Coordinates developmental evaluations and assessments. Performs child evaluation/assessment activities. Responsible for supervision of district's program of special instruction. Participate in quarterly coaching review meetings with BCW staff. Asissts in EIC with any special projects, trainings, meetings, or activities.




Qualifications

1. A Master's degree in child development, early childhood education, early childhood special education, special education or other closely related field. 

2. A minimum of two years of professional experience providing service to children and families or in the administration of a service delivery program for children and families or children's health. 

3. Completion of the Level II SCEIs training modules developed by the Lead Agency or successfully passing the PRAXIS II test *within six months of employment or contracting with the Babies Can't Wait System. (Note: Providers who were hired or had a contract start date prior to this policy are still under the old requirement of two years.)Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner and  leaders encourages all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being.

The use of wellness breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and assist employees in meeting their wellness goals.  A maximum of 30 minutes in a given workday may be used to engage in wellness activities, generally in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
