This position is located at District 1-1, Northwest Georgia Public Health in Rome, Georgia.  This position is an unclassified, full-time position working 40 hours per week.  Please complete your online application with current and previous employment details and duties.


Requirements

Under direct supervision, learns to enter and process personnel and payroll transactions. Compiles and files employment reports. Searches files and furnishes information to authorized persons.

Additional Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Timecard tracking and review to ensure proper period end processing
  • Coordinates intake of Family and Medical leave and Worker’s Compensation
  • Assists staff with entire payroll cycle including, but not limited to payroll processing, garnishments, annual benefits, and 401k
  • Aids in new employee onboarding and orientation
  • Compiles various data reports 
  • Use of concise judgment and initiative to perform duties in support of an individual employee or group of employees
  • Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor


Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and six (6) months of work experience. 

Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Administrator experience working in ADP Workforce Now and Workday. 
  • Previous experience processing payroll including garnishments.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data entry, etc.). 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple duties including previous experience working on multiple projects simultaneously with short deadlines for completion. 
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service and oral communication skills, to effectively interact with all levels of departmental personnel and outside customers. 


The DPH Commissioner and agency leaders encourage all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being. 

The use of physical activity breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and help employees meet their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes of physical activity may be allocated per workday, typically in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.

Employment Information

CBH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. CBH may contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
  
 The District Human Resource Department must receive an official transcript and/or proof of licenses, certifications prior to employment.
