This vacancy is being announced as a Full-time, Unclassified position

Louisiana Medicaid is seeking a strategic leader to serve as our Director of Managed Care. This position plays a critical role in overseeing managed care operations, strengthening partnerships with health plans, and advancing initiatives that improve access, quality, and health outcomes for Medicaid members across Louisiana. We are looking for a leader with strong managed care operations expertise, collaboration skills, and a passion for public service and healthcare transformation.

Qualifications

Job Duties:

  • Coordinates and oversees the integration, execution, and monitoring of Medicaid priorities, policies, activities, and cross-agency initiatives to ensure timely completion and resolution of issues. 
  • Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and operational practices in alignment with Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) standards and applicable regulations. 
  • Serves as a key liaison between Medicaid executive leadership, LDH leadership, sister agencies, the Office of the Secretary, and CMS regional and headquarters leadership to facilitate communication, collaboration, and strategic coordination. 
  • Promotes accountability, communication, and cooperative decision-making among Medicaid and LDH senior leadership regarding operational, management, and programmatic initiatives impacting the agency. 
  • Applies expertise in Medicaid regulations, industry trends, best practices, and applicable laws to ensure regulatory compliance and support effective program administration across the Medicaid agency. 
  • Leads and facilitates strategic planning initiatives by establishing organizational priorities, goals, and operational strategies that support Medicaid program objectives and long-range planning efforts. 
  • Prepares and delivers executive-level briefings, reports, memoranda, and presentations for LDH leadership, legislators, administrators, and external stakeholders regarding Medicaid programs, initiatives, and agency operations.
