Dietitian/Nutritionist 1
Requirements
Under supervision, plans and conducts services to nutritional programs to assist in the promotion of health and control of disease. Provides
nutritional assessment, education and counseling to individuals, groups, or the public in the WIC Program as assigned. Serves as a resource on
nutrition and dietetics to nurses, health educators or other healthcare providers in health departments and/or facilities. Some travel will be
required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications for Nutritionist:
Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition or
nutrition education, food systems management or a closely related field
from an .accredited college or university AND verification statement of
completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition &
Dietetics.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical
Nutrition, Dietetics, or Public Health Nutrition from an accredited college
or university that meets specific coursework criteria.
Minimum Qualifications for Registered Nurse:
Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and
one (1) year of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within
one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license
and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience at the lower-level PH
Registered Nurse 1 (HCP190) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a WIC Program.
