DEVELOPMENTALIST




The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach treatment goals and to return to more integrated community living settings. Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.

Pinecrest Supports & Services Center (PSSC) is seeking a dedicated Developmentalist to join our dynamic team.


Requirements

Two years of experience in the care, guidance, or education of a group of children or adults.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Job Duties:

  • Provide individual vocational training opportunities and support at specific job sites (whether on-grounds or off grounds) to individuals supported by PSSC, striving to increase overall vocational skills and abilities of each person.
  • Provide necessary transportation to and from job sites.
  • Receive proper training in the use of equipment, supplies and other resources so you are able to support individual workers and create an environment where they are able to perform their duties.
  • Foster each individual’s opportunity to enhance their skill level using the DISCOVERY method throughout your daily interaction with them.
  • Provide individuals the exposure to a variety of new work skills and tasks, including specialized training according to the industrial standards of the job, so individuals supported have the knowledge and skills to choose where they work.
  • Maintain accurate records on attendance and training progress, in accordance with active treatment requirements.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of each job site (whether on grounds or off grounds) and PSSC.
  • Report and monitor for individual incidents/accidents and suspected cases of abuse/neglect to proper authorities in a timely manner to ensure individuals are safe.
  • Ensure behavioral and physical support plans developed by the Interdisciplinary Team are implemented as intended in the job site areas.
  • Assist with preparation of documentation and training progress as required,.
  • Work with Habilitation Instructor Supervisors, Rehab. Evaluators and other departmental staff in developing and creating a successful work environment for the individuals through modification or other improvements to employment goals and outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to departmental staff regarding the implementation, progress or regression of individual’s performance levels.

Position-Specific Details:

Location:  Pinecrest Supports and Services Center - Employment Services
Appointment Type:  This position may be filled by Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, Detail to Special Duty or Job Appointment
Shift:  7:30 AM - 4:00 PM           Pass Days:  Saturday and Sunday
Compensation:  $12.49/hr - $22.50/hr.
