Dental Asst 3

Under general supervision, assists the dentist and/or dental hygienist in chairside dentistry in the clinic.

Requirements

  • Assist dentist and dental hygienist in management of a medical and dental emergencies
  • Takes x-rays as prescribed by dentist
  • Instructs a client in oral hygiene
  • Instructs a client in oral hygiene and plaque control programs
  • Prepares clients, sterilizes instruments, sets up instrumental trays, prepares materials, assists dentist during dental treatment and cleans room
  • Assists with all aspects of sealants, dental health education programs, and health fairs
  • Assists with administrative duties of Oral Health Program including intake process, scheduling appointments, and billing
  • Records treatment information in client records.
  • Follows clinical guidelines of record documentation and HIPPA regulations

Qualifications

High School diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience in a dental setting; or a Vocational/Technical degree in dental assisting from an accredited college and one (1) year of experience as a dental assistant; or one (1) year experience at the lower level Dental Billingual English/Spanish preferred.
