Brief Job Description:

The Data Request Coordinator for the Vital Event Data Management team (VEDM) team acts with limited supervision and considerable latitude to perform advanced (senior-level) program planning, development, implementation, analysis, and documentation of data release procedures, specifically: Ad hoc data requests, Internal Review Board (IRB) applications, Committee on Requests for Personal Health Data (CORPD) applications, Data Use Agreements (DUAs), contracts, and Memorandum of Understandings/Agreements (MOUs/MOAs) for the Vital Event Data Management team (VEDM) team. Serves as primary coordinator and point of contact for VEDM customers and stakeholders. This position will also evaluate and prioritize data release request and assign request to VEDM team members. Reviews data requests applications for completeness and tracks them through the data request process. Reviews data release operations, identifies areas needing change, and develops plans to improve release of VEDM data.    

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

EJF 1: Collects, organizes, analyzes, and prepares materials in response to VEDM data release requests. Serves as primary coordinator and point of contact for VEDM data requests, IRB and CORPD applications. Review and process IRB and CORPD applications, MOUs and DUAs and recommend revisions as needed. Evaluate and prioritize request for data received through the VEDM email box and assigns to staff for processing. Tracks progress of VEDM data release requests. (40%).

EJF 2: Reviews data release operations, identifies areas needing change, and develops plans to improve release of VEDM data. Review and evaluate data release methods, outputs, activities, and trends to identify gaps in resources and recommend and implements improvements to resolve technical problems. Calculates and disseminates performance measures related to VEDM data releases. Utilizes performance measures to recommend appropriate operational and process changes. Utilizes software programs necessary to document and track performance measures, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. (35%)

EJF 3: Respond to requests for health-related data, particularly complex research requests. These requests may be generated from telephone conversations, written correspondence, or office visits. Manipulate, query and link large databases to respond to requests. (20%)

Initial Screening Criteria:

Summary of Experience in Employment History must indicate the following experience:

Experience tracking requests, customer inquiries, or providing customer service.

Experience working with protected health information, personal identifiable data, or other sensitive data.

Experience using Microsoft Excel.

Experience communicating with stakeholders, government officials and the general public.
