Main Purpose of Job

The position is responsible for reviewing and triaging investigations and reporting all incidents of abuse, neglect, injuries of unknown origin, unexpected and unexplained deaths, police involvement and restraints within their assigned region to ensure individuals are kept free from harm. This position will also assist other regions with investigations, as needed. Investigations will include onsite reviews, documentation reviews, interviews culminating in written reports with conclusions and recommendations as indicated. This position also conducts onsite routine or complaint visits to provider agencies throughout the 9 counties in the region which requires work in the evening. This position will be responsible for maintaining the regional databases related to incident data and analyzing the trends to reduce the likelihood of the incidents reoccurring. This position will work with QE staff, QE RN, Regional RN, and Regional Provider Services to ensure agency QE plans include concerns and/or trends identified during investigations to ensure technical assistance is provided to agencies with concerns identified in the investigation process. This position is eligible for telework subject to the approval of the Regional Director. Any approved telework plan will be documented and have a clearly documented and measurable work plan to support it.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Two years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. 2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate should possess: Direct experience working in the field of developmental disabilities. Knowledge of LTSSMaryland, COMAR and the Community Pathways Waiver.
