Why does the job exist?

 
Incumbent will be responsible for providing direct psychological services in the Care Unit.

How does it get done?

 
Incumbent will evaluate patients utilizing psychological assessment tools for determining proper diagnosis, treatment needs and recommendations, need for hospitalization, response to treatment, and prognosis.

Patients/ Residents/ Clients.

Ideal Candidate

 
Ideal candidate will have:
Experience with Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan Assessments;
Experience with preparing legal documentation;
Experience with policies, procedures, and process for patient care;
Experience with guardianship appointments for patients.

Minimum Qualification

 
Licensed by the New Mexico Board of Psychologist Examiners and three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field above licensure requirements and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required experience.

Employment ls subject to nationwide criminal background checks and is conditional pending results.
2.CRIMINAL RECORDS BACKGROUND CHECK-Must successfully complete post offer pre-employment criminal records background check. Employment is conditional pending the results of criminal records background checks. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions

 
Position will perform work primarily in an office setting with extensive computer and phone usage and exposure to Visual Video Display Terminal. Lifting up to thirty (30) pounds may be required. Effective 01/01/2015, the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 100% Tobacco Free/E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or E-Cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus. Unit APU. Work hours are 8 am to 5 pm.
