Community Based Services is an agency that not only functions as the outpatient clinic for New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute but also serves the community as a whole. The CBS team prides themselves on collaborative treatment teams and always acting in the best Interests of the clients we serve.

Why does the job exist?

 
This position exists to serve numerous clinical needs of our agency including conducting initial clinical evaluations and formulating diagnosis, counseling individuals, groups, and families, providing crisis services and interventions, and providing good clinical documentation for all services rendered.

How does it get done?

 
The key responsibilities for this position are conducting initial assessments and formulating a diagnosis, providing therapy, covering our crisis line and clinic, and completing quality clinical documentation. Therapists are required to complete progress notes, comprehensive clinical evaluations, discharge summaries, treatment plans, and crisis documentation.

Who are the customers?

 
Community Based Services clientele consists of adults 18 and over with a wide range of mental health needs. We provide in person services.

Minimum Qualification

 
Licensure in New Mexico as an LMSW, LISW, LMHC, LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, or LPAT and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field above licensure requirements and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess a current driver's license.  Candidates must be a Licensed LMHC, LPCC. LMSW, LCSW, LPAT, or LMFT (provisional license will be considered).

1.SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITIONS--This position ls designated as safely sensitive. Employment Is subject to pre-employment and random testing. In accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules, and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Employment ls subject to nationwide criminal background checks and is conditional pending results.
2.CRIMINAL RECORDS BACKGROUND CHECK-Must successfully complete post offer pre-employment criminal records background check. Employment is conditional pending the results of criminal records background checks. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to extensive personal computer and phone usage. Work is performed directly with clients that have serious mental Illness and some travel may be required.
