Auditor 9-P11 - Subrecipient Monitoring and Internal Control Section

The function and purpose of this position is to perform subrecipient audit report monitoring of Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) grantees. This involves obtaining, reviewing, and tracking subrecipient financial and single audit reports of agencies receiving funding from MDHHS, as required by federal regulations and MDHHS contractual requirements. This position is also responsible for providing audit related technical assistance to MDHHS administrations, subrecipients, and outside auditors as well as performing other subrecipient monitoring functions as necessary. The position may also perform other special projects, such as on-site reviews or limited scope audits.

Requirements

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting.

Experience

Auditor 9
No specific type or amount is required.

Auditor 10
One year of professional experience auditing accounting, financial, and operations records equivalent to an Auditor 9.

Auditor P11
Two years of professional experience auditing accounting, financial, and operations records equivalent to an Auditor, including one year equivalent to an Auditor 10.


Qualifications

Possession of a Certified Public Accountant certification (CPA) may be substituted for one year of experience at the P11 level.

OR

Possession of a Certified Management Accountant certification (CMA) may be substituted for six months of experience at the P11 level.
 

Possession of a Certified Internal Auditor certification or a Certified Information System Auditor certification may be substituted for one year of experience at the P11 level for positions responsible for internal auditing.

OR

Possession of a bachelor's degree with 24 semester credits (36 term) in finance, information systems, or management may be substituted for the education for positions responsible for internal auditing.

The physical location of this position is 235 Grand Ave, 10th floor Grand Tower, Lansing MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.

Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.  
 

Employees will be provided computers to perform state work.  Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
 
  • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
