Why does the job exist?

 
Incumbent will provide transportation to clients of Community Based Services (CBS) Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program (PSR), serve lunch daily to clients and provide support to CBS administration team.

How does it get done?

 
Incumbent will provide daily transportation to clients of Community Based Services PSR program. Key responsibilities include listening and providing emotional support and encouragement to psychiatric patients, encouraging clients during therapeutic activities, and reporting physical or mental conditions of clients to appropriate staff to include documentation when required. Additional duties involve serving lunch to clients of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program, cleaning and disinfecting rooms/tables and state vehicles to ensure a safe and orderly environment. The incumbent will also ensure state vehicles are properly maintained and equipped. Support to CBS administrative staff, may include tasks such as receiving deliveries, handling mail runs and other.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

2.CRIMINAL RECORDS BACKGROUND CHECK-Must successfully complete post offer pre-employment criminal records background check. Employment is conditional pending the results of criminal records background checks. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions

 
This position will perform work in a hospital and office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. This position requires extended periods of talking, standing, bending, squatting, and occasional reaching above head and shoulders as well the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds. Exposure to mentally and behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable and sometimes violent behaviors. Effective 1/1/2015, the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 100% Tobacco Free/E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or E-Cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus.
