Position provides direct supervision, coaching, mentoring, and training to subordinates and will provide highly comprehensive nursing care.

How does it get done?

 
Incumbent will supervise, plan and schedule nursing services, assists physicians and other personnel, closely supervise specialized nursing requirements and coordinate nursing services with other departments.

Ideal Candidate

 
Ideal candidate will have:
Experience with disciplinary actions.
Experience implementing policies, procedures and competency;
Experience with being compliant with state, Federal and JCAHO Standards.

Minimum Qualification

 
Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and two (2) years of management experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.

Working Conditions

 
This position will perform work in a hospital and office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Exposure to mentally and behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable and sometimes violent behaviors in volatile situations requiring crisis intervention may be required. Effective 1/1/2015, the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 100% Tobacco Free/E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or E-Cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus.  Unit is Tesuque I. Shift 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
