$34,320 - $51,480 Annually

Why does the job exist?

 
To provide routine maintenance and assure a safe environment for residents in a secure facility.

How does it get done?

 
This position will perform maintenance tasks such as carpentry, heating and cooling systems, boiler operations, painting, grounds keeping, interpreting blueprints and performing routine maintenance for a residential treatment center.

Who are the customers?

 
Our facility is a secure facility which serves the needs of adolescent males age 13-17 with a history of violence and aggression

Ideal Candidate

 
Will have experience:
Performing routine building maintenance.

Minimum Qualification

 
High School Diploma or Equivalent and three (3) months of experience in general buildings and grounds maintenance, custodial duties, construction, or appliance repair. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) months may substitute for the required experience.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Employment is subject to criminal background check pursuant to NM Caregivers Criminal Screening Act (Sections 29-17-2 through 29-17-5 NMSA 1978 and 7.1.9.1 through 7.1.9.11 NMAC), and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions such as hot, cold, humidity, wind, rain and snow. Exposure to sunlight, dust, pollen, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, toxic fumes/chemicals and/or airborne particles. On call 24/7 during inclement weather. Work is performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorallychallenged residents, who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors.
