This is a continuous posting will be used for ongoing recruitment and to fill multiple vacancies. Applicant lists may be screened more than once.

The Administrative Services Bureau Finance Section oversees the Department's financial planning, accounting, compliance, and reporting.

Why does the job exist?

 
This position will support the finance department by supporting financial processes, analysis, and administrative support. In this learning role the individual will learn about NMDOH finance and it's role in the department.

How does it get done?

 
Financial Accounting Support:

Assist with organizing and maintaining financial records and documentation
Support basic data entry related to financial transactions
Help reconcile simple financial information under supervision

Procurement and Accounts Payable:

Assist with the preparation and tracking of purchase orders
Help review invoices for completeness and accuracy
Support the processing of accounts payable payment vouchers
Maintain organized files for procurement and payment records

Grants Management and Revenue Reimbursement:

Assist with tracking grant-related expenditures
Help compile documentation for grant reimbursement requests
Support data entry and record keeping related to grant revenues

Budgeting and Financial Planning:

Assist with gathering data for budget projections and reports
Help update spreadsheets used for budget tracking
Support staff in monitoring expenditures against budgeted amounts

Who are the customers?

 
These positions will receive training from DOH ASD Finance staff to learn fiscal processes and procedures for financial accounting , procurement, contracts, accounts payable, grants management, and/or budgeting.

Ideal Candidate

 
The ideal candidate for this position will be interested in learning entry level governmental accounting practices in areas of financial accounting, procurement, contracts, accounts payable, grants management, and/or budgeting.

Minimum Qualification

 
Current enrollment in High School curriculum or GED/HiSET education program OR High School Graduate or successful completion of GED or HiSET within the last two (2) years.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. 

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed in an office setting with extensive computer usage.
