Why does the job exist?

 
This position provides highly professional administrative support to the Adult Psychiatric Division (APD) Director and to the Chief of Psychiatry.

How does it get done?

 
This position provides administrative support, including KRONOS (timekeeping) to the APD Psychology Supervisor, Social Work Supervisor, psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers. This position coordinates transportation for APD patients who are being discharged and have no other means of returning to their homes, as well as medical or legal appointments out of town. This position also serves as back-up for the Legal Services Secretary.

Ideal Candidate

 
The ideal candidate would have:
Experience in providing clerical services;
Experience in an office setting;
Experience with Microsoft Word;
Experience in customer service.

Minimum Qualification

 
Eighth grade education.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Must obtain a defensive driving certificate.

Working Conditions

 
Position will perform work primarily in an office setting with extensive computer and phone usage and exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal. Effective 01/01/2015, the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 100% Tobacco Free/E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or E-Cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus. Work unit is Adult Psychiatric Division (APD). Shift 8am to 5pm.
