Afternoon Custodian I - Utah State Hospital
This position is full-time, (Monday-Friday 1130am-8pm) and includes a full State benefits package!
- Familiar with basic housekeeping practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Physically able to meet the demands of the position, which includes, but is not limited to repetitive and continuous walking, standing, crouching, lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Comfortable using cleaning chemicals, tools and equipment.
The Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to closely follow written or oral instruction and willingly accept training and feedback.
- Diligent, reliable and trustworthy.
- Detail oriented when completing assigned cleaning duties.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Principal Duties
- Sorts soiled linens, washing, drying, folding, and re-stocking clean linens on a daily basis.
- Cleans and maintains floors, dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture, washes windows, mirrors, and other glass or plastic items, empties trash and garbage, etc.
- Maintains building(s) and/or facilities in a clean and orderly condition and/or removes snow from sidewalks and doorways, etc.
- Cleans, sterilizes, and or disinfects areas and/or equipment.
- Sets up and arranges tables and chairs.

Qualifications
- In this position you will likely encounter risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.
- The work of this position requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restrictive areas, etc.
