Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Vacancy)
This position will provide direct patient care for men, women, teens, and partners in the Sexual Health and Wellness Program in the Women’s Health Center at CPH. This program is funded by Ohio Department of Health under Title X. Scope of practice will include gynecology, sexual health for men and women, PrEP care, and expedited partner therapy.
Pay Range:
$47.25 to $52.50 per hour
Preferred Qualifications:
Board certified family nurse practitioner licensed in the State of Ohio. Experience working in sexual health and with diverse populations (i.e. patients from varying racial, ethnic, religious, sexual orientation or gender identity backgrounds); ability to see 2-3 patients per hour.
Requirements
Obtains medical histories of patients regarding family, personal, and current health information and immunological status;
Performs physical examinations of patients such as well, routine, and specific gender/age examinations;
Performs or orders health screenings and diagnostic tests in accordance with clinical guidelines;
Prescribes medications in accordance with rules established by the Ohio Board of Nursing;
Diagnoses and treats selected health problems within the scope of a specialized practice based upon history of present illness, physical exam findings, and lab results;
Participates in research projects such as determining the effectiveness of specific medications or new laboratory procedures;
Trains staff, acts as a preceptor to and/or provides leadership to health care personnel regarding patient care management, and responsibly delegates nursing tasks;
Develops and implements wellness monitoring and enhancement services for established patients;
Assists with the development of clinical practice policies and procedures;
Refers patients to physicians, other health care professionals, and supportive and social services as appropriate;
Initiates emergency management of adverse medication related reactions;
Records medical information on patient records; completes forms necessary for patient care, follow-up, and disease control;
Maintains patient electronic medical records;
Counsels and/or instructs patients regarding disease treatment, care, and prevention; explains to patients methods to administer prescribed medications;
May make informational presentations at professional conferences or seminars;
May be required to play an active role in providing basic health care needs in the event of a public health emergency;
May be assigned to serve as a member of an Incident Command System (ICS) Team, or a similar public health response team which may include the conduct of operations on a 24/7 basis at remote locations. Assignment may include serving as a department and/or community incident commander or on the incident command team.
Qualifications
Possession of a valid Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license from the Ohio Board of Nursing to practice nursing as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (APRN-CRNA), Clinical Nurse Specialist (APRN-CNS), Certified Nurse-Midwife (APRN-CNM), OR Certified Nurse Practitioner (APRN-CNP).
