Why does the job exist?

 
Incumbent will provide social work services to resident of the Adult Psychiatric Division (APD).

How does it get done?

 
Incumbent works with treatment team to facilitate discharge planning activities such as contacting potential discharge locations, providing necessary documents, being a contact point for potential discharge locations.

Ideal Candidate

 
Ideal candidate would have:

-Experience working with treatment planning;

-Experience working with providing direct effective treatment to patients;

-Experience working with various psychotherapeutic modalities;

-Experience working with mentally ill;

Must be licensed in accordance with the Social Work Practice Act,
Sections 61-31-1 through 61-31-25 NMSA 1978, and 16.63.1 through 15-63-20 NMAC.

Minimum Qualification

 
High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in a substance abuse and or behavioral disorder counseling environment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.

Employment ls subject to nationwide criminal background checks and is conditional pending results.
2.CRIMINAL RECORDS BACKGROUND CHECK-Must successfully complete post offer pre-employment criminal records background check. Employment is conditional pending the results of criminal records background checks. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Effective 01/01/2015, the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 100% Tobacco Free/E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or E-Cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus.
