Join the Louisiana Department of Health as an Administrative Coordinator 4 and play a key role in the operations of a public health laboratory. Support a wide range of critical functions—from securing goods and services, managing inventory, and processing payments, to assisting scientific staff with data entry for newborn testing. Contribute to efficiency improvements, strengthen team dynamics, and help ensure the Public Health Laboratory system runs smoothly while making a real impact on public health.

Requirements

Three years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

· Coordinate and process purchase requests, orders, P-Card transactions, and professional contracts for the Office of Public Health Laboratories, ensuring compliance with state procurement rules.

·  Purchase laboratory and office supplies, instrumentation, reagents, and services, using professional judgment to meet operational needs.

·  Process and reconcile invoices, maintain fiscal records, and ensure cost-effective use of laboratory resources.

·  Train staff on procurement processes, state systems, and laboratory protocols to ensure accuracy and compliance.

·  Serve as a point of contact for vendors, LDH leadership, and laboratory visitors, responding to inquiries and routing communications.

·  Assist with administrative tasks, including revising forms, preparing reports, and maintaining organized files for efficient laboratory operations.

·  Support emergency preparedness efforts and respond to public health incidents as required.

· Maintain a safe and organized workspace, minimize hazards, and assist with onboarding or training new staff on established procedures.
