Requirements

Two years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

  • Greets customers and conducts initial interviews with applicants and clients to assess needs, gather preliminary information, and identify the appropriate staff member or program for assistance.
  • Maintains working knowledge of SNAP, LaCAP, FITAP, KCSP, and D-SNAP policies and procedures to ensure all eligible services are offered and clients receive accurate program information.
  • Researches prior client services and case history by accessing automated systems such as LITE and FileNet and performs system activities including application registration, address updates, benefit verification, and Electronic Benefit Card issuance or replacement.
  • Retrieves online applications from parish queues, assigns cases to analysts, and assists Social Services Analysts by obtaining verifications, documentation, and case-related information through multiple automated systems.
  • Provides general clerical and administrative support including document imaging and filing, copying, mail and fax processing, report preparation, and assisting with payroll, personnel, purchasing, and inventory functions.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development and required training, including Disaster SNAP (D-SNAP) and National Incident Management System certification, to maintain program knowledge and disaster readiness.
  • Supports disaster response operations by assisting with D-SNAP eligibility interviews and registrations, helping evacuees in shelters, issuing emergency benefits, and using systems such as the Emergency Tracking Network (ETN) to track evacuees and services.
