Requirements

Two years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

  • Provides customer support for professional staff by serving as receptionist and/or telephone operator, by greeting customers and assessing their needs. Completes personal interviews with customers to gather sufficient information needed to identify appropriate staff members. 
  • Assists customers with performing functions on kiosks such as completing online applications, redeterminations, and simplified reports. Maintains a working knowledge of policies and procedures related to the programs identified above to ensure that all program services are offered.
  • Researches prior client services by accessing complex automated mainframe systems, Louisiana Integrated Technology for Eligibility (LITE), and Common Access Front End (CAFÉ).
  • Performs activities on complex systems, which may include, but are not limited to, system clearances, registration of program applications, address changes, verification of benefits issued, parish transfers, issuance and replacement of Electronic Benefit Cards, etc. Accesses the CAFÉ On-Line Application System in order to retrieve and pend applications from the parish queue, open up applications and assign to analysts.
  • Provides general clerical support to all staff by making copies, filing case records, opening and delivering mail, preparing outgoing mail, receiving and distributing faxes, compiling data for reports, etc.
  • Maintain a state of readiness to respond to disasters, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, chemical spills, flooding, earthquakes, train derailments, ice storms, terrorist incidents, etc. Responds to a declaration of a SNAP disaster by assisting with the implementation of procedures to interview and determine eligibility of applicants for the D- SNAP Program.
