ACCOUNTANT MANAGER 1

This position is ideal for detail-oriented finance professionals who excel in revenue management, reconciliation work, and maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. We are looking for applicants with experience in regulated revenue collections, bank reconciliations, resolving financial discrepancies, working under strict internal controls such as GAAP or audit standards, managing multiple revenue streams, and supervising or guiding staff in cash or financial operations. Requirements

Seven years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR

A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR

An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR

Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

  • Supervise staff responsible for classification, reconciliation, and accurate recording of Medicaid-related revenue streams, including Drug Rebate payments, SURS recoupments, and cost settlement revenues, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines.
  • Oversee Medicaid revenue activities such as the Provider Fee (MATF) and Medicaid Premium Programs (LaCHIP, MPP, Hospital Assessments), coordinating with revenue analysts and federal reporting staff to ensure proper coding and processing.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of the Quarterly Accounts Receivable Report for Medicaid-related receivables, ensuring thorough reconciliation, documentation, and collaboration with financial reporting and federal partners.
  • Directly supervise classified and non-classified personnel, including assigning work, monitoring production, approving leave, conducting performance evaluations, and enforcing adherence to internal controls.
  • Review and approve high-value transactions entered into the State’s financial systems to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in audits, policy development, and internal control assessments related to Medicaid revenue functions, ensuring proper segregation of duties, workflow documentation, and audit readiness.
