GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  

Use your skills to make a difference in your community! This position is working up to 24 hours a week as a clinic supervisor position that operates a local WIC agency in Douglas, Wyoming, including satellite locations in Wheatland and Glenrock, Wyoming. This position ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.


  • Performs WIC participant certification, including health and nutrition assessment/nutrition education for participants, including breastfeeding education/support and health referrals. Prescribes and issues supplemental, nutritious food packages.
  • Communicates with necessary parties regarding changing rules, expectations, and goals while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. 
  • Assures development of services and actual service delivery meets the needs of the participants, and assures areas of concern with service delivery are appropriately addressed.
  • Assesses community needs and conducts appropriate outreach.
  • Liaison from field offices to the Regional Nutrition Supervisor and State WIC Agency.  
  • Provides provider and participant training and education, public education, resource development, identification, and implementation of best practices.
  • Coordinates breastfeeding promotion and education.

Requirements


PREFERENCES: 


Our ideal candidate will have a degree in Nutrition, Nursing, Public Health Nutrition, or health-related areas.
 

KNOWLEDGE: 


  • Understanding maternal and child health, nutrition, and breastfeeding support.
  • Experience in program management, community outreach, and customer service
  • Strong leadership skills to supervise and motivate employees.
  • Knowledge of grant administration, marketing, and social outreach strategies.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with Wyoming state statutes and federal regulations.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 

Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Healthcare)
 
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Health Programs)
 
OR
 
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Health Programs)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None

  • FLSA:  Non-Exempt 
  • Part-time, benefited position working 24 hours per week.
  • A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, for every successful applicant.
