Why does the job exist?

 
The purpose of the position is to be the point person to collect, analyze, and distribute data to show effectiveness, strengths and challenges of the Immunization Program. This position will support efforts related to national and state surveys, audits of providers to determine coverage levels, tracking exemption rates with the New Mexico State Immunization Information System (NMSIIS), and reporting to NM Department of Health on performance measures. This position will provide customer service for internal and external customers of the Immunization Program. This position will also assist the Vaccine and Outreach Manager with outreach and tabling events throughout NM.

How does it get done?

 
1. Analyze and report performance measures, immunization exemptions, and school immunization coverage rates through CDC and statewide survey tools.
2. To plan and coordinate outreach events in New Mexico, which includes presenting to internal and external partners and stakeholders.
3. Provide support to programmatic needs as needed.

Ideal Candidate

 
- Three to five (3-5) years experience with data mining
- Three to five (3-5) years experience with community outreach
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- MPH or related graduate degree

Minimum Qualification

 
Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Science, Social Sciences or Statistics. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

 
Work in an office setting with exposure to visual/video display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Ability to lift up to forty (40) lbs.
Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel required for tabling and outreach events and conferences.
