Tattnall County Nurse Manager

The Tattnall County Health Department is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the full-time, salaried position of County Nurse Manager

As a Nurse Manger with the SEHD, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgia residents in a variety of ways.

It is our mission at the Southeast Health District, to promote and protect the health of people in Southeast Georgia, wherever they live, work and play, uniting with individuals, families, and communities to improve and enhance their quality of life. We have clinic locations in 16 counties in Georgia, including Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Bulloch, Candler, Charlton, Clinch, Coffee, Evans, Jeff Davis, Pierce, Tattnall, Toombs, Ware and Wayne counties.

Requirements

Under limited supervision, develops and manages day-to-day operations of a population-based program of Nursing and other clinical services in a County Public Health Department.  Provides overall management and administrative guidance for specifically assigned programs, assesses educational and programmatic needs; develops policies; collaborates with other health care providers in the provision of services to target populations. Develops clinic schedules and supervise staff; work with county and city governments; Emergency Preparedness. Duties include work of considerable difficulty requiring independent professional judgment, experience, and skills. Collection of COVID-19 specimens from individuals presenting for COVID-19 test. This may include the use of the following specimen collection types: oropharyngeal swab, nasal mid-turbinate swab, anterior nares swab, nasopharyngeal wash/aspirate, saliva collection, and nasal aspirate. This would also include any additional appropriate specimen collection types and/or vaccinations for diseases related to a declared public health emergency. 

The Nurse Manager will oversee operations at two public health sites within Tattnall County, providing leadership and coordination of nursing and clinical services across both locations. This position requires a consistent on-site presence at the Glennville location every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and at the Reidsville location every Tuesday and Thursday.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited College or University AND Two years of PHN experience AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited College or University AND Three years of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
 
Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's degree in Nursing, Public Administration, Public Health, or a closely related field. Public Health Experience.Benefits:
 
40-hour work week (Monday – Friday), 13 paid holidays/yr., 3 weeks each of annual & sick leave/yr., a defined benefit retirement plan including a 401(K) plan with a matching employer contribution, health and payroll deductible flexible benefits including employee, spouse and child life, AD&D, dental, vision, legal, long term care, short and long-term disability and specified illness options are available.  Also, medical/childcare spending accounts can be established in addition to deferred compensation – 457.
