This posting will be used for on-going recruitment and may close at any time.  Applicant lists may be screened more than once. New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico.

Why does the job exist?

 
Perform security for a 24 hour Specialty Hospital (NMRC)

How does it get done?

 
Secure facility at all times, fill out security reports, monitor traffic flow, parking and follow traffic control policy, assist other individuals if patient/client becomes combative using CPI techniques and perform minor building maintenance work when assigned.

Who are the customers?

 
Patients and staff of the New Mexico Rehabilitation Center.

Ideal Candidate

 
Knowledge of guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules and safety. Ability to follow instructions, both written and oral to communicate.

Minimum Qualification

 
Eighth grade education.

Employment Requirements

 
Employment is subject to post offer preemployment criminal background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and must complete a Defensive Driving Course.

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. The incumbent may be exposed to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable potentially violent behavior in volatile situations. The ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, and some travel with the occasional overnight stay may be required.
