RESIDENTIAL SERVICES SPECIALIST 5



We’re looking for a Residential Services Specialist 5 to join our dedicated team at Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center (CLSSC)—a facility committed to providing active treatment and healthcare services to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and orthopedic disabilities in the least restrictive environment. As a Residential Services Specialist 5 at CLSSC, you’ll supervise direct care staff and play a vital role in the overall well-being of our residents.

Requirements

Three years of training or experience in providing behavioral health or developmentally disabled services or psychiatric patient care; OR

Thirty-six semester hours in education, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, child guidance or nursing.

Job Duties:  

  • Supervises and evaluates the work performance of the Residential Services Specialists. Ensures that ratio is maintained for the oncoming shift. 
  • Work double shifts according to departmental policy/procedure to ensure supervisor coverage is maintained on each shift. 
  • Assigns daily work schedules. 
  • Implements and directs the active treatment program on the assigned home ensuring activities are carried out. Instructs and trains Residential Services Specialist's in resident's active treatment program. 
  • Completes all forms and routes to the appropriate personnel. Reports all incidents/accident to the shift nurse. Checks, maintains and orders supplies as needed. Completes requisitions needed for supplies, equipment and repairs in living areas. Maintain accurate inventory of resident's clothing and personal belongings. 
  • May be assigned a group of residents and required to perform all duties of the Residential Services Specialist. 
  • Directs subordinates in training and guidance of residents in routine and simple self-help skills such as good hygiene, feeding and dressing, good housekeeping and other activities providing personal and social growth. 
  • May accompany residents to off campus activities, assist with shopping for residents; ride the bus/vans and assist with transferring and securing residents; push residents' wheelchairs for daily activities, holiday parades school plays etc.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty. Current permanent status, classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointed if selected.

Work Schedule: Will be required to work 8, 10, 12 or 16 hour shifts, shifts will be determined based on facility needs.

Compensation:  Special Entrance Rate (SER): $1,458.00 Bi-Weekly
In addition, this position has the following premium pays:

Longevity (for actual hours worked):
$1.000 months to less than 6 months
$1.506 months to less than 3 years
$2.003 years to less than 5 years
$2.505 years or greater
 Shift Differential (for actual hours worked):
2nd shift evenings 2 pm-10:30 pm $0.90
3rd shift nights 10 pm-6:30 am$0.50
All shifts weekend/Holidays$0.50
Market Conditions (for actual hours worked):
$1.50

Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center employees.
