This position is part of the Northwest Region Public Health Division within the NMDOH.  This full-time position is located at the Southwest Valley Public Health Office, 2001 Centro Familiar Blvd SW, Building A, Albuquerque, NM 87105.

Provide clinical services for various Public Health Programs, i.e., Family Planning, Immunization, Tuberculosis, Epidemiology and Communicable Disease, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and outbreaks, etc.
Complete QM, Pharmacy and CLIA requirements.
Promote public health and participate in its role of building healthier communities.
Integral member of the local Health Office Team.

How does it get done?

 
This position provides clinical services for various Public Health Programs, i.e., Family Planning, Immunizations, Tuberculosis, Epidemiology and Communicable Disease, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Medications for Opioid Use Disorder, and outbreaks, etc. Responsibilities include completing Pharmacy and Clinical Laboratory Improvements Act requirements.

Ideal Candidate

 
The ideal candidate has experience:
-Delivering highly specialized public health services to the people in New Mexico
-Ensuring adherence to clinical policies, protocols and procedures.
-Ensuring Compliance for lab and pharmacy regulations
-Providing Immunizations
-Preparing and administering medications ordered by nursing initiated protocol, standing orders and/or adjust treatment plan based on physicians' orders.

Minimum Qualification

 
Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

 
Services are provided in a clinic, auxiliary and community sites, and occasionally in the client's home with potential exposure to communicable diseases and computer usage for a variety of clinic and office functions.  Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage with extended periods of office noise, bending, standing and lifting.  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.  Services are provided in a clinic with diverse racial and ethnic populations, many who do not speak the English language.
