Main Purpose of Job

This position will provide direction and oversight to staff in the LBHA Prevention Services Program. This includes the Coordinated Community Supports Partnership (Hub), Substance Use Prevention, Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation, Cannabis Use Prevention, Overdose Response Training, Local Overdose Fatality Review Team (LOFRT), and Academic Detailing. This position will guide the prevention services team in the design, planning, promotion, and execution of substance use prevention activities and grants management. This position is responsible for effective communication with co-workers, management personnel, and community partners; representing the department as it relates to prevention initiatives; assessment and sustainability of programs; the preparation of requested/required reports; and upholding the department's administrative practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling, or a related field. Experience: Six years professional experience in health services, three years must have been in Addiction professional work related to treatment and services to persons with alcohol or other substance addiction and three years must have been at the managerial or supervisory level. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master’s degree or a Doctorate degree in a health or human services field from an accredited college or university for up to two years of the required general experience. 2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus an additional year of professional experience in health services for the required education. 3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Health Services Administration specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate should possess: Experience in planning, managing, and implementing prevention services programs. Strong communication and community representation skills. Proficient in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Experience with behavioral health services and community partnerships. Experience working with Cecil County Public Schools and other community partners.
