This posting will be used for on-going recruitment and may close at any time.  Applicant lists may be screened more than once. New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico.

Why does the job exist?

 
Perform operational support services for a 24-hour Specialty Hospital. Operate or maintain stationary engines, boilers, or other mechanical equipment to provide utilities for buildings or industrial processes. Operate equipment, such as steam engines, generators, motors, turbines, and steam boilers.

How does it get done?

 
Keeps Support Services Manager aware of unusual readings or malfunctioning equipment and repairs necessary for maintaining environmental equipment. Maintains emergency generator to ensure proper operating function of equipment and performs operating tests on equipment by running generator and taking readings. Repairs pumps, valves, water lines, gas lines, air lines, lighting systems, switches, sprinkler systems to maintain the environmental safety of buildings and grounds of a hospital. Performs preventative maintenance duties on equipment, as assigned, to ensure proper operation with a minimum of downtime.

NMRC is Specialty Hospital that treats patients and clients with Chemical Dependency and Medical Rehabilitation needs.

Ideal Candidate

 
Knowledge of maintaining equipment. Performs preventative maintenance duties on equipment, as assigned, to ensure proper operation in the boiler room, mechanical rooms, and utility rooms.

Minimum Qualification

 
High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months experience in the operation or maintenance of mechanical equipment to provide utilities for building and/or industrial processes. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience.

Employment Requirements

 
Must successfully complete post offer preemployment criminal records background check is conditional pending results of criminal background check. Employment is subject to preemployment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed outside and inside and may include climbing ladders and working on rooftops. Position involves extended periods of walking, bending and heavy lifting on a daily basis. May be required to work weekends, holidays and overtime. Some travel may be required.
