Health Care Nurse Surveyor - Norristown Field Office

As a Health Care Nurse Surveyor, you will be responsible for performing professional assignments to evaluate compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to long-term health care providers and facilities. Your work will involve evaluating the quality of care provided to residents in long-term care facilities and investigating complaints about the quality of care and services provided to residents. Work is performed through the application of knowledge, established methods, practices, procedures, policies, and regulations related to the various professional disciplines in the health care field. In this position, you may be assigned to function independently, with a partner, as a member of a team, or as the designated team coordinator during on-site surveys.

This position requires irregular work hours to meet departmental needs. You will frequently travel 3 to 4 days per week within Philadelphia County and parts of Bucks County, Delaware County, and Montgomery County. You will be required to carry a cell phone and respond to complaints during off-hours. Statewide travel, overnight travel, and flexible work hours are required in order to accommodate state and federal mandates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will often be required to work irregular hours and overtime due to travel.
• Travel is required.
• This is a home headquartered position which will require you to be headquartered at your home and travel to worksites to complete your work duties. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

• All positions require successful completion of the relevant provider-specific federally mandated Surveyor Minimum Qualifications training and Test (SMQT) provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or an equivalent certifying body for the discipline, within one year of hire.
• All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license.
