Emergency Preparedness Training Coordinator

Under broad supervision of the Emergency Preparedness Director, the Emergency Preparedness Training Coordinator is responsible for assessing, planning, and/or coordinating Public Health Preparedness training and exercise needs for the public health district. Performs end-to-end learning and development, including participation in hazard vulnerability analyses, evaluation of training options to address gaps, and scheduling training. Evaluate training and learning outcomes in relation to functional and/or technical training activities.

Requirements

  • As a team member or individually, participates in the development of conferences, instructive seminars, presentations, and speeches for community and civic organizations and the general public
  • Identifies training needs, providing guidance and training to customers or less experienced staff
  • Plan and schedule exercises to assess plans, facilitate exercises, and participate in after-action reviews.
  • Prepare after-action reports and improvement plans and track the completion of assigned improvement plan tasks.
  • Review plans and initiate change based upon exercise outcomes and real-world events.
  • Submit documents and reports to the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program as required.
  • Serves as a resource in the development and implementation of outreach communication

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED AND Two years of experience providing educational, training, or instructional services in functional area; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Training & Development Specialist 1 (GSP120).

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess the following:

  • Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation (HSEEP) Certification
  • Experience in public health emergency preparedness or emergency management.
  • Incident Command System (ICS) training
  • Experience developing training materials and/or curriculum and exercise development.
