D & I - IMMUNIZATION REGISTRY COORDINATOR - Public Health

The Immunization Registry Coordinator manages and coordinates data exchange between Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) and the Texas Immunization Registry.  

Ensures successful transmission, data quality, and reporting of TCPH immunization data.

Requirements

  1. Manages data exchange with the Texas Immunization Registry and conducts timely troubleshooting and error resolution to ensure continued data flow.
  2. Supervises staff responsible for correcting data quality that resulted in rejections or errors.
  3. Serves as a liaison between the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and TCPH for Immunization Registry communication and data exchange.
  4. Develops and maintains training and education content related to the Immunization Registry.
  5. Analyzes immunization data to provide reporting and grant deliverables.
  6. Manages access to the Immunization Registry for TCPH users and clinics.
  7. Provides subject matter expertise to internal and external partners.
  8. Maintains knowledge of immunization reporting and policy changes to recommend appropriate action.
  9. Performs all duties as assigned.

Qualifications

NOTE: YOU MUST FILL OUT THE WORK HISTORY and EDUCATION SECTIONS OF APPLICATION TO SHOW YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AS REQUIRED BY HIRING DEPARTMENT OR BE DISQUALIFIED.

TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Informatics, Data Science, or a related field + Two (2) years of full-time work experience in a healthcare, hospital, or public health setting.
OR
TO APPLY, must have a Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Informatics, Data Science.  Master’s degree is preferred.  

Experience in a health-related field with knowledge of immunization protocols, interoperability, reporting procedures, and data exchange is required.  

Broad technical, clinical, and public health knowledge of Immunization Information Systems (IIS) and the exchange of immunization information is required.  

Knowledge of HIPAA and Promoting Interoperability requirements is required.  

Experience with XML and HL7 standards and development is required.

Experience in supervision, quality assurance, health informatics, and electronic health records is preferred.

Knowledge of immunization practices and public speaking skills is preferred.

Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually. While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to bend, carry, climb stairs, grasp/squeeze, use hand tools, hear, keyboard, kneel, lift below the waist, lift between waist and shoulder, lift overhead, lift to the side/twist, tolerate noise, pull, push, reach, reach overhead, perform repetitive tasks, see color, see far and near, sit, squat, stand, stoop, talk, twist, use his/her hands, drive a vehicle, walk, and work alone and with others.  Possible exposure to active infectious diseases and body fluids.  Possible needle sticks and restraining of children.
