CUSTODIAN 2 WAE

This is a part-time position located in Alexandria, LA at the Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center. Applicants applying to this announcement should be aware that this is a part-time WAE (when actually employed) position, and shall not exceed 1245 hours in a 12-month period.   Pay is negotiable and will depend on verified qualifications/experience. 

The successful candidate will be subject to a background check, as a condition of employment.

Requirements

Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.

Qualifications

The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.

Empties and decontaminates trash containers.

Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.

Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks.

Strips, cleans, and polishes floors using industrial-grade machines.

Follows procedures for disposing of infectious waste.

Maintains custodial equipment; reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian.

Sets up tables, chairs, and other furniture for special meetings, banquets, or other occasions as assigned.

Washes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions.

Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.

Strips, decontaminates, and makes beds for patients, residents, students, etc.

May perform grounds work by picking up trash, watering plants, light mowing, weed trimming, etc.
