Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to coordinate the evaluation, planning and monitoring of behavioral health services provided by psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, professional therapists and addiction counselors in Wicomico County in order to ensure the provision of individual and community intervention, prevention, and education in the area of addictions. This position offers oversight of service delivery and assists in managing service utilization for the county's Public Behavioral Health System. This position is designated emergency essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Three years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. 2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following: - Experience providing treatment or case management services to individuals with substance abuse disorders. - Experience with harm reduction and overdose response. - Experience using COMAR regulations for behavioral health programs.
