NORTHEAST DELTA HUMAN SERVICES AUTHORITY MISSION:
Serve as a catalyst for individuals with mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictive disorders to help them realize their full human potential by offering quality, excellent care with greater accessibility.

Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is seeking a Community Service Professional 3 to serve individuals with disabilities in Region VII in our community service division. This position requires knowledge of policies and procedures in multiple statewide program elements and must establish and maintain good rapport with individuals served by the agency.

Requirements

Six years of experience in providing health or developmentally disabled services, counseling, health care management, or social services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience plus three years of experience in providing health or developmentally disabled services, counseling, health care management, or social services; OR

A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in providing health or developmentally disabled services, counseling, health care management, or social services; OR

An advanced degree in a social sciences field, nursing, public health; public, hospital, or health administration; speech-language pathology or communication sciences and disorders; physical, occupational, recreational, or music therapy plus two years of experience in providing health or developmentally disabled services, counseling, health care management, or social services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:

  • Plans and coordinates statewide programs developing an individual support plan as appropriate to the needs of the individual to the needs of the individual with developmental disabilities.

  • Creates, organizes, and maintains knowledge of community resources, advocacy organizations, and provider agencies based within the assigned region available for referral for supports to individuals; moreover, maintains working knowledge of Developmental Disabilities state and federally funded resources.
  • Attends court hearings to discuss agency criteria as ordered by a court, representing the agency and explaining agency support to court personnel. Must serve as liaison and coordinator between individuals, their families, the community, and service providers.
  • Determines agency eligibility and necessary assessments to assist with referral for emergency waiver request, meeting with individual/family to collect comprehensive information for review by the state review team.
  • May be required to perform other duties as necessary, including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type:   Probational, Promotional, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty

Compensation: NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans.

  • 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians.
(Full-time clinical practice is defined as no less than 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 45 weeks per year.)
