Clinical Staff Physician


The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Clinical Staff Physician in the Federally Qualified Health Center Division. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months.  

This recruitment will close on or before the date listed above, once a sufficient number of qualified applicants have been identified.  

We participate in the following HRSA Loan Repayment Programs:  National Health Service Corp and the Bureau of Health Workforce.

This position will work a 4/10 schedule.
To perform a variety of advanced clinical duties on an "out-patient" basis only through the SNHD clinics, participate in the control, prevention, suppression and treatment of diseases and conditions within the assigned program, or any of the established Southern Nevada Health District sites, or sites of its various medical partners; to identify patients with physical and emotional illness; and to administer medications as prescribed. This position will not admit or follow clients at "in-patient" facilities including hospitals, extended care or nursing homes, except if designated by the District Health Officer. 

Requirements

Education and Training: 
  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
Experience: 
  • At least (2) two years of clinical experience with both adults and children.
License or Certificate: 
  • Nevada licensure as a physician.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Nevada driver's license.
  • Board Certification in adult medical care and/or pediatric care.
  • Be responsible for securing all required CMEs and other educational and professional training, along with maintaining for licensing body, all copies and required documentation.

Desirable Qualifications:
Two years providing Primary Care services preferred
Ability to care for patients of all ages preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
FQHC experience preferred
Certified or Board Eligible preferred
