The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana.

Office of Public Health is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant 2 for the Bureau of Engineering Services. The position provides support to the Engineering Services Region 6 staff.

Requirements

One year of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties Include but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct assistance to the Engineering Region 6 staff.
  • Maintaining hard files and electronic data files/systems, organizing, updating, and purging files as requested
  • Assisting with inventory and property control functions
  • Making copies of documents, files, letters, handouts, meeting notes, and agendas.
  • Check and review mail and distribute to appropriate staff.
  • Receive visitors and direct them to appropriate members of the staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Appointment Type: WAE (When Actually Employed) appointment; **Please note** Part-time WAE appointments are temporary and may last up to a year. Employees can only work a total of 1,245 hours within a 12-month period.
