Medical Reserve Corp Coordinator
The Southwest Georgia Medical Reserve Corps is a community-based unit that helps organize, train, and utilize medical and non-medical volunteers to respond to emergencies and to promote healthy living through events such as health fairs. It is affiliated with Southwest Health District 8-2.

Paygrade: I/ Minium Salary Range: $17.00-18.00 per hour ( based on qualifications/experience)

- Recruits, retains, and manages volunteers for the Medical Reserve Corp in the 14-county district, including scheduling and deploying volunteers as needed
- Assures training opportunities for volunteers
- Seeks additional funding for ongoing MRC functions
- Maintains a database of volunteers
- Prepares and submits required reports
- Maintains HIPAA standards related to Privacy and Security
- Participates in MRC National and State conference calls
- Participates in general Emergency Preparedness planning and response activities, including traveling to meetings and conferences
- May participate in health fairs, serve on committees, and make presentations
Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience performing work related to area of assignment OR Six years of experience performing work related to area of assignment. This position requires the ability to lift up to 45 lbs., and the ability to bend and reach up.
Preferred Qualifications
- College Degree in a related area
- Previous employment Health Department/County Board of Health or Department of Public Health (DPH)
- Computer skills (Office suite)
- Experience recruiting and managing volunteers
- Emergency Preparedness Experience
- NIMS/ICS Courses: 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800
- WEBEOC, GHA911, and ReadyOp Communication system experience
- Bilingual-Spanish and English
- Supervisory Experience
A State Merit Application for Employment must be received by this office no later than the deadline. Highlight any experience related to the Preferred Qualifications. This position may require driving company vehicles (Valid driver’s license required) and working some evenings and weekends during special events such as health fairs and responding to disasters. Selected applicant must consent to a motor vehicle record assessment. Points should be less than 10 and/or not negatively impact insurance rates for the agency. Drug screen, criminal background check and immunization records may be required. If selected, male applicants between 18 and 26 years of age must present proof of Selective Service Registration.
